Appointments & Referrals
Patients with ongoing medical issues such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Choloesterol, Thyroid, etc. are asked to schedule their follow-up appointments when they are in the office.
Billing & Insurance
Billing is handled at the central office of Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians. That telephone number is 326-2672. We make every attempt to accurately code our patients’ office visits, procedures and tests to provide the insurance company and/or government agency with this information in a timely fashion. We recognize that mistakes do occur and ask that patients bring any difficulties they may have with their bills to our attention at this office.
This office accepts more than 50 insurance plans administered by well over 200 different employers and groups. The rapid changes that occur to plans, and the large number of plans our patients have, make it impossible for us to maintain up-to-date knowledge of each plan’s requirements, exclusions, referral rules, prescriptions formularies, etc. It is our habit to practice medicine in the way in which we were trained, that is, “do the right thing”, treat all patients as we ourselves would want to be treated. We ask that patients assist us as much as possible by getting to know their own plan’s rules as far as referrals, prescriptions coverage, co-payments, deductibles, etc. We will assist them wherever possible to negotiate the sometimes confusing and often intimidating healthcare industry.

No BWC
No new Medicaid
Prescriptions & Refills
Prescription refills will be handled at office visits, and enough medicine will be prescribed to last at least until the patient’s next appointment. We discourage the practice of calling in prescriptions as it does not allow the patient or the doctor to re-evaluate the appropriateness of the prescription, and follow the condition for which the medication has been prescribed. We do not accept calls from pharmacies to refill medications. When pharmacies call us, we request contact directly with the patient. Since we expect to fill them at the office visit, running out may be a signal that the patient is due in the office and needs to be scheduled.

Our policy for Prescription Refills for patients changing pharmacies or changing to mail-order: If a patient decides to change pharmacies, the law in the State of Ohio permits non-expired prescriptions to be transferred to the new pharmacy without charge or interruption. In the case of most mail-order pharmacies, they disregard this provision and require prescriptions be re-written. In the event that this is preferred by the patient BEFORE their next routine visit, the patient has a couple of choices: 1) make an appointment to see the doctor for repeat refills, 2) wait for their next regular visit to change pharmacies, Or 3) pay a fee for the patient’s physician to review their medical record and re-write the prescription – which will then need to be picked up at the office.

Antibiotic and narcotic prescriptions will not be called in to a pharmacy without an office visit.
After Hours
The physicians of COPC are available by phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for your emergency medical problems. Please call our office phone number and the answering service will connect you to the covering physicians. Our physicians admit to St. Ann's, Grant, Mt Carmel East and Riverside hospitals. COPC has hospital specialists that work on our behalf to care for you while you are in the hospital.

Please reserve after hours calls for true emergency medical problems. Prescriptions refills, referrals, cold symptoms, sore throats, etc. are most appropriately treated during our regular office hours. Covering doctors will not prescribe medications over the phone for patients they have never seen.

COPC operates the SameDay Care Center for after hours medical services. The SameDay Center is located at 4885 Olentangy River Road. The hours are M - F = 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Sat from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
When You Visit
When you come to our office you will be asked to bring a photo ID and your insurance card with any co-pay that you are responsible for.  If you are able to print off the new patient forms shown on this web site, we ask that you fill these our completely and bring them with you or, come in 15 minutes before your appointment time to fill them out while in the office.  Also, please bring all medication that you are currently taking so we can go over them with you.
