Dedicated to providing the best patient care
At Central Ohio Primary Care we believe healthcare starts with building strong relationships. The foundation of any great relationship starts with honesty and trust.
To gain the trust of a patient, physicians must be able to practice medicine with the patient at the center of each decision. This may require spending more time with a patient during an office visit, creating a patient-centered health plan, or directing a patient to the best specialist or hospital in the area. All go a long way in building a true patient-centered relationship.
Taking care of people and making a difference are just a few reasons you chose this career path. A part of that is practicing medicine on your own terms. As a COPC physician, you are free to focus on the practice of medicine. We will assist you in delivering quality and value-based care. The central business office takes the administrative burden off of the practice.
Who We Are:
Central Ohio Primary Care is a physician-owned primary care group of over 300 providers and 55 practice locations. Our physicians set the course. They have a voice. They are in charge. One hundred percent of earned income goes back to the doctors.
COPC was established in 1996 when a group of 33 physicians chose to focus more on the quality of patient care they were providing and less on the administrative paperwork. The result was the creation of an administrative support team that gave doctors more freedom to do what they do best - practice medicine.
COPC makes it more efficient to practice medicine with a full-service laboratory, complete radiology services, cardiac testing and hospitalist services. We have first-rate health management programs, including two physical therapy centers, an innovative diabetes management program, and an asthma disease management program. We have two SameDay Centers and a Pediatric Support Center that support our practice’s urgent care needs 7 days a week. But our most important achievement continues to be providing the highest quality of health care to our patients.
What Makes Us Unique:
We focus on prevention and rewarding doctors for keeping people healthy. All of our practices are recognized by NCQA as Patient-Centered Medical Homes. Our physicians are role models and leaders in our population health management initiatives. COPC has developed team-based programs for our patients with a goal to close care gaps and reduce health care costs. We do so by steering patients away from unnecessary emergency room visits and hospital stays.
This approach provides comprehensive primary care for children, adolescents, and adults. It is a health care setting that facilitates partnerships between patients and their personal physicians.
Through this model, practices seek to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the care they deliver, and to ensure that the activities within the practice are focused on meeting patient needs first.
* Our model of care is led by our Executive Committee. This collaborative of 10 physicians, elected from our board meet once a month to discuss important issues facing COPC and the health care industry as a whole. Key topics discussed include compliance, insurance reform, growth initiatives, patient protection, as well as staying on top of cutting edge technology. They are at the forefront of current trends and set the course to remain a leader in the transformation of health care.
* Central Ohio Primary Care is governed by a board of physicians which includes one doctor from each of our practices. The board meets each month to discuss issues and vote on items brought to their attention by the Executive Committee. These physician leaders are the central voice of their practice.
* Within two years, COPC physicians gain Shareholder status which enables physicians to own their accounts receivable and have the benefits of partnership without a high cost buy in.
