Appointments & Referrals
Our office hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Closed daily for lunch from 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

We have walk-in hours available to see patients on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM for urgent, sick visits only. Patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis, with no new appointments being accepted after 9:30 AM. The office is closed daily from 12:00 to 1:15 PM and on Sundays. We are also closed in observance of the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Patients are scheduled by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling during our office hours. It is helpful to schedule check-up appointments 2-3 months in advance. We will make every effort to arrange appointment times that are convenient for your busy schedule.

If your child is ill and you wish to have him/her seen that day, it is best to call early in the morning so that we may accommodate your scheduling needs.

Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you. We ask that you arrive for your appointment 10-15 minutes early so there is time to park and check-in with our receptionist. Patients arriving late for appointments may be asked to reschedule so that the remainder of the day’s patients can be seen on time. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice so that another patient may be given that appointment time. You may be billed a “no show” fee for appointments that are not cancelled in a timely manner.
Billing & Insurance
As a part of COPC, all billing is handled by the central COPC office. Billing and insurance questions should be directed to (614) 326-2672.

Our office is a health care provider for most major health plans. When you call to schedule an appointment, please verify that we are participants in your plan.

Please bring your current insurance card with you to every visit. Our office will file your insurance claim if we are approved providers of your insurance plan. In the absence of a current insurance card, you will be asked to pay in full at the office and file with your insurance company yourself.

Our fees are standardized and are based upon time spent and severity and complexity of the visit. Payment is due when services are rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. All co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles are collected at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept Visa and MasterCard.
Prescriptions & Refills
Please call during normal business hours for prescription refills. In general, we will not approve telephone refills for patients who have not had a complete physical examination within one year. Have the following information available when calling the office: your child’s name, the name of the drug, the dosage of the prescription, and the pharmacy name and telephone number. Please allow 24 hours for the prescription to be called in.

With the exception of eye drops (called in at the nurse and physician’s discretion), we do not prescribe antibiotics over the telephone. We also do not prescribe controlled substances (such as narcotic pain medications or many behavioral medications) over the telephone.
Calls & Emails
If your child has a true emergency (such as a seizure or major trauma), call 911.

Please call between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday to schedule appointments, to request prescription refills, or to ask brief medical questions. The phones tend to be busiest in the early morning, especially on Mondays and Fridays. For your convenience, you may wish to wait until the afternoon for issues that do not require immediate attention.

We have nurses available by telephone to answer many of your questions. They are specifically trained to counsel you, following guidelines set by our physicians. They can help you with questions regarding well baby and child care. They can also advise you on the care of an ill child and help determine if your child needs to be seen by a physician.

For routine matters, please consult our parent manual or our website: www.copcp.com prior to calling the office as these references provide useful information and can answer many common parent questions.
After Hours
We recognize that children do not always become ill or injured during regular office hours. We make ourselves available to you in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays. One of our physicians is on call during these times.

If your child has a true emergency (such as a seizure or major trauma), call 911.

If your child has an urgent medical problem, call 891-9505, follow our voice mail system, and the physician on call will be paged. Please reserve these calls for sudden or serious problems that cannot wait until the following business day. This time is not for routine questions that can wait until regular office hours or questions that can be answered by consulting our parent manual or website. Parents should be able to give temporary treatment to non-emergency conditions, such as cold, fever, and cough.

If you do need to reach the doctor on call, for the fastest service and the best medical care, please follow these guidelines:

Leave your name, your child’s name, and a phone number where you can be reached.

Please keep the phone line open for the physician on call to return your call.

Have the name and phone number of your pharmacy ready.

If you do not receive a return call within 30 minutes, please call again.

On Saturdays, the physician on call will be in the office from 8:30am to 9:30am to see patients who have an illness that is too severe to wait until Monday. Please do not use Saturday morning hours for your child’s chronic problems (e.g. behavior concerns, chronic headaches, recurrent abdominal pain, etc...).

Please remember that while we provide 24-hour coverage for our patients, we expect that calls made after hours will be for urgent problems only.
