Cardiac Testing Services

Nuclear Scans

A nuclear test (stress or pharmacological[medication]) determines whether or not your heart is getting enough blood flow. To perform the test, we will inject a small amount of Cardiolite into your blood through an IV, and then a special camera will be used to take pictures of your heart. If you are scheduled for a nuclear scan, please download our Caffeine Worksheet, Pharmacological Cardiolite Worksheet, or our Stress Cardiolite Worksheet for instructions on your procedure.

* This service is accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Stress Echocardiograms

A stress echo is another test that determines whether or not your heart is getting enough blood flow. For this test, ultrasound images are taken of your heart before and after exercise. If you are scheduled for a stress echocardiogram, please download our Stress Echo Worksheet and our Caffeine Worksheet for instructions.

* This service is accredited by ICAEL, the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echo Laboratories.

Echocardiograms

An echo is a resting ultrasound of your heart. It will look at the movement of the valves and the walls of your heart. If you are scheduled for an echocardiogram, please download our Echocardiogram Worksheet for instructions.

* This service is accredited by ICAEL, the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echo Laboratories.

Stress Testing

A stress test is only used to quantify maximum functional capacity and determine guidelines for activities. For this test, the patient will walk on the treadmill while the body's physiological responses to exercise are being measured (heart rate and blood pressure). If you are scheduled for a stress test, please download your Stress Echo Worksheet.
