Central Ohio Primary Care Featured in PBS Series “How It’s Math”

Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC) is featured in Season 2 of How It’s Math, a nationally distributed public television series produced by Doodles & Digits. The series introduces elementary students to the real-world ways math is used in careers across a wide range of industries, including healthcare.

In three different episodes, viewers go behind the scenes at Central Ohio Primary Care to discover how radiologic technologists, pediatricians, and medical lab professionals use measurement, geometry, decimals, large numbers, and graphs to keep people healthy. By connecting classroom math to authentic careers, the series helps students see how the skills they are learning today prepare them for tomorrow’s opportunities.

Designed for students in grades 3–5, How It’s Math combines real workplace experiences with engaging educational content to inspire curiosity, career exploration, and confidence in mathematics. Through partnerships with businesses and organizations across the country, the series helps answer one of students’ most common questions: “When will I ever use math?”

COPC will be featured in three episodes during Season 2:

  • Episode #201: Optometrist, Food Pantry, Zoo and Radiology Technologist– Premieres September 1
  • Episode #203: Fire Department, Gardening, Dairy Farm and Laboratory– Premieres September 15
  • Episode #204: Aquarium, Set Design, Hopewell Mounds and Pediatrician– Premieres September 22
