COPC Takes Your Care To Heart

At Central Ohio Primary Care, our philosophy is to give each and every one of our patients the care and resources they need in order to be knowledgeable and in control of their health. Through our comprehensive and state-of-the-art screenings, you will be able to learn about your potential risk for heart disease and any unidentified cardiac conditions you may have. Because we value the importance of knowing your risk and taking steps towards prevention, we highly encourage you to contact your COPC physician for a cardiac test referral as soon as possible.

Nuclear Scans

A nuclear test (stress or pharmacological[medication]) determines whether or not your heart is getting enough blood flow. To perform the test, we will inject a small amount of Cardiolite into your blood through an IV, and then a special camera will be used to take pictures of your heart. If you are scheduled for a nuclear scan, please download our Caffeine Worksheet, Pharmacological Cardiolite sheet, or our Stress Cardiolite sheet for instructions on your procedure.

* This service is accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Stress Echocardiograms

A stress echo is another test that determines whether or not your heart is getting enough blood flow. For this test, ultrasound images are taken of your heart before and after exercise. If you are scheduled for a stress echocardiogram, please download our Stress Echo sheet and our Caffeine Worksheet for instructions.

* This service is accredited by ICAEL, the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echo Laboratories.

Echocardiograms

An echo is a resting ultrasound of your heart. It will look at the movement of the valves and the walls of your heart. If you are scheduled for an echocardiogram, please download our Echocardiogram sheet for instructions.

* This service is accredited by ICAEL, the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echo Laboratories.

Stress Testing

A stress test is only used to quantify maximum functional capacity and determine guidelines for activities. For this test, the patient will walk on the treadmill while the body's physiological responses to exercise are being measured (heart rate and blood pressure). If you are scheduled for a stress test, please download your Stress Echo sheet

In our efforts to provide the best services available in Central Ohio, we make it a priority to listen to our patients’ feedback in order to adapt and make improvements. If you are a COPC patient that has recently completed a Stress Echocardiogram, Nuclear Scan, Echocardiogram, or Stress Test, we would like to hear about your experience and would greatly appreciate you taking the time to fill out our survey.
