Practice Overview

Fairway Family Physicians welcomes you to our practice. We are a group of board certified physicians who specialize in preventive medicine and disease management for your entire family. We are proud to be a part of Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC), one of the largest physician-owned primary care medical groups in the United States. COPC currently has over 300 physicians, a state-of-the-art laboratory, cardiac testing centers, radiology service centers and physical therapists to help us provide the best possible care for our patients. We believe that by putting you at the center of your health care and supporting you with treatment plans and education, we can help you improve your overall health.

News

We are pleased to introduce you to our new Physician Assistant!

Seanna Reeg received a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Elon University where she majored in Exercise Science and minored in Human Services, Biology, and Public Health.

Seanna is board certified with the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio, and is a member of the Ohio Academy of Physician Assistants.

Seanna has spent the past five years of her career practicing internal medicine and urgent care medicine, most recently for the Chamlers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center. She has a special interest in wellness through lifestyle intervention and a passion for helping the under-served, which has led her to volunteer her free time in medical initiatives internationally and in her local community.

Prescription Policies and Information

Prescriptions and refills will be handled at scheduled office visits and enough medicine will be prescribed to last at least until the patient’s next appointment. Since we expect to fill prescriptions at the office visit, running out may be a signal that it is time to call our office to schedule an appointment. We request patients be seen annually for routine medication refills. If your prescription insurance plan requires a prior authorization for a medication, you will be responsible for obtaining a Prior Authorization Form from your insurance company for your physician to complete.  While our office staff and physicians do their best to help patients obtain their maximum prescription benefits, insurance plans, including drug coverage plans, are a contract between the patient and the patient's insurance company.

If you need to change pharmacies or change your prescription to mail order, the law in the State of Ohio permits non-expired prescriptions to be transferred to the new pharmacy without charge or interruption. In the case of most mail order pharmacies, they disregard this provision and require prescriptions to be re-written. In the event that this is preferred by the patient BEFORE their next routine visit, the patient has a couple of choices: 1) make an appointment to see the doctor for repeat refills, 2) wait for their next regular visit to change pharmacies, or 3) pay a fee for the patient's physician to review their medical records and re-write the prescription - which will then need to be picked up at the office.  Lost prescriptions for controlled medications (such as pain medications, sleeping aides, etc.) will not be replaced.

We discourage the practice of calling in prescriptions as it does not allow the patient or the doctor to re-evaluate the appropriateness of the prescription, and follow the condition for which the medication has been prescribed. We do not accept calls from pharmacies to refill medications. When pharmacies call us, we request contact directly with the patient.

Staying Healthy At Work

With cold and flu season around the corner, it's important to do what you can to stay healthy this year. By thinking ahead and taking small precautions, you can significantly reduce your odds of becoming sick and spreading it to others. Because illnesses are commonly caught and spread in workplace environments, we have an article that can help you find ways to stay healthy at work.

SameDay Care Centers

Our SameDay Centers deliver excellent care that’s a cut above the typical Emergency Room and Urgent Care experience, at a significantly lower cost. By choosing one of our SameDay Centers, you can be seen after traditional hours or when your regular physician is unable to see you that same day.

After-Hours Support Center (614) 865-3125

If you are a COPC patient, the After-Hours Support Center is available to help you find the care you need. When you call our After-Hours Support Center, a Nurse Practitioner on staff will address your concerns and guide you in the right direction. Mondays - Fridays from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm and weekends from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, our nurses can help you schedule appointments with your COPC physician, refer you to a SameDay Center, and help you with prescription refills until you can reach your COPC physician’s office directly (limited to small quantities of your current medications only.)
