Prescription Policies and Information

When you are here for your appointment, please remember to ask for your prescriptions. Otherwise, a fee may be applied. There is no guarantee of a chronic prescription refill outside of an appointment. Please consider using the patient portal for your prescription refills.

If there is more than one refill request between appointments, an appointment will be requested for refills. Prescriptions not prescribed by Endocrinology Specialists or extenders will not be filled. Please see your primary care physician to have these reviewed and refilled. Endocrinology Specialists will not prescribe narcotic medications.

For all prescription refills, Endocrinology Specialists staff need 72 hours, or three business days, notice. The physician does attempt to submit prescriptions sooner, but this is not guaranteed. Please note that our answering service will not accept prescription refills after hours.

Our office does not accept prescription refill requests by fax from pharmacies, as we do not accept financial responsibility for auto refills.

When you call in for a refill, please be prepared with the following information:

  • Name of the drug
  • Dosage and quantity needed
  • Number of times per day that you take the drug
  • Pharmacy information, including phone number and location

Co-Pay, Coinsurance and Self-Pay

All copays and coinsurance are due at the time of service. This is a policy made between you and your insurance company, and it is our role to honor this agreement.

Patients who are self-pay are expected to pay at the time of service. Our fees are standardized and based on the complexity of the visit.

We do not accept Medicaid as a primary or secondary insurance.

Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we're here to help.

To keep appointments available for all patients and reduce wait times, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot make your scheduled visit.

What Counts as a Late Cancellation or No-Show?

Late Cancellation: Canceling or rescheduling your appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled time.

No-Show: Missing your appointment without notifying us at least 24 hours in advance.

Fees for Missed Appointments

Appointments not canceled at least 24 hours ahead of time will incur a $25 fee.

Please note: This fee is not covered by insurance and will be billed directly to you.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment in any of the following ways:

  • MyChart: If you're enrolled, you can cancel or reschedule anytime through your account.
  • Call the office: If we're unable to answer, please leave a voicemail with your full name, date of birth, appointment date/time, and the reason for cancellation.

Helpful Reminder

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in and any necessary paperwork. This helps us stay on schedule and ensures your visit runs smoothly.
