COPC Expands Patient Access to Clinical Trials Through Research Partnership

2/13/2026

COLUMBUS, Ohio – 2/12/26 – Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC), one of the nation's largest physician-owned primary care organizations, is proud to announce a new strategic alliance with Remington-Davis, Inc. (RDI), an independent clinical research site with over three decades of experience.

The new alliance brings the clinical research expertise of the site directly into COPC’s patient ecosystem. RDI will serve as COPC’s primary clinical research partner, helping to identify trial opportunities that align with both clinical need and therapeutic relevance without compromising the continuity of patient care.

"This collaboration supports physician-led, patient-centered innovation," said Victor Legner, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Central Ohio Primary Care. "By expanding access to clinical trials, we're helping patients explore additional care options in a way that aligns with their existing treatment plans."

As part of this collaboration, COPC and RDI will align clinical insights and care workflows. This integrated approach enables precise, data-driven feasibility assessments, rapid and accurate identification of trial candidates, deeper screening insights, and holistic patient evaluations.

The partnership is designed to be scalable and sustainable across COPC's 80+ sites. COPC clinicians can offer research participation as an extension of care, while leveraging RDI's full-service operational model. That includes concierge-level patient support, rapid trial startup, and some of the highest retention rates in the industry—greater than 97% in recent vaccine studies.

"Both COPC and RDI are grounded in the same philosophy: better care begins with better access," noted RDI President Hamish Baird. "By uniting clinical research with trusted primary care relationships, we're creating a more connected, compassionate pathway to advancement."

Clinical Trials at COPC: Patient FAQs

 What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a research study that involves people like you. Drug companies and device companies conduct clinical trials under the guidance of the FDA to determine the safety and effectiveness of new treatments. Clinical trials are important because they serve as the foundation for most medical advances. Without clinical trials, many of the medical treatments and cures we have today would not exist.

Why should I volunteer for a trial?

People volunteer for clinical trials for many reasons. Some want to advance science or help doctors and researchers learn more about disease and improve health care. Others, such as those with an illness, may want to have timely access to new medications or treatments.

How do I know if I'm eligible for a clinical trial?

Eligibility varies by study and depends on factors such as your medical condition, age, medical history, and current medications. Your COPC provider can help determine if you might qualify for available trials, or you can contact RDI directly to discuss current opportunities. The research team will conduct a screening process to ensure the trial is right for you.

Are clinical trials safe for patients?

Clinical trials follow strict safety protocols overseen by the FDA, institutional review boards (IRBs), and medical professionals. All trials go through multiple phases to evaluate safety before becoming widely available. Participants are closely monitored throughout the study, and you can withdraw at any time if you have concerns.

Can I continue seeing my regular COPC doctor during a clinical trial?

Yes. Clinical trial participation complements your regular care at COPC. Your primary care provider remains involved in your overall health management, and the RDI research team coordinates closely with your COPC doctor throughout the study.

Who should I contact for more information about clinical trials?

If you have questions, we encourage you to speak with your COPC doctor or call Remington-Davis directly at (614) 487-2560. Information about current clinical trials at COPC is also available at www.remdavis.com or through the national registry at www.clinicaltrials.gov.
